Ratatouille

I know I’m a bit too old to watch animation movies, but what the hell, do I really care? I needed something to ward off the exam tension. So I decided I’m going to watch the IMDb All-time top 100 movies that I haven’t seen before.

Since it’s been a long time I actually watched something that wasn’t dark, serious or thought provoking, Ratatouille was just the movie I needed to relax. It’s basically the story of rat who wants to make it big as a chef, but obviously isn’t fit for being a chef in the human world. Things change when he meets a garbage boy who works at a big restaurant in Paris, and he helps the garbage boy become a chef by using the boy’s body as a tool and his own master cooking skills.

In all, a wholesome piece of entertainment. Some parts seem too cheesy while others are really commonplace. But that’s the way animation movies are supposed to be, aren’t they?

  1. All right, here’s the deal :
    1. I *hate* thought provoking movies. They’re boring. Movies = pop culture = meant for entertainment only. I read hundreds of books, all of which are thought provoking. I don’t need to provoke my thoughts any more with stupid boring pseudo-realistic “social issues” crap. Unless it’s South Park. Parker and Stone know how to get the point across.

    2. I *hate* dark movies. They give me the creeps. I’m a sunshine loving guy who’d like nothing better than to sit in the grass and chew at something yummy. Dark movies suck.

    3. I still haven’t got the hang of “serious”.

Animations rock. They beat any movie with “real people” hands down.

  2. hey, i know it’s a great movie, ain’t it. Every time I’m bored I either watch pulp fiction, batman begins or ratatouille..
