My Ears Are Unsymmetrical
Well, this is a rant. I’m just tired of getting new earphones. I’ve never been able to get a pair of earphones to fit inside my ear perfectly. They usually keep on falling off or get disturbed from their ideal position, thereby destroying my experience of listening to music.
I am a symmetry fanatic. I like to keep things symmetrical around me. And now I get to know that I have unsymmetrical ears. The hole in my left ear is smaller than the right one. I came to this realisation when I bought a pair of new earphones for my Sony Ericsson K530i.

I got three different sizes of earbuds along with the set.

I had some difficulty adjusting to the medium size buds, and my left ear felt a little under pressure. Due to this, the left one would occasionally fall out after a few minutes of use. I then tried the small buds, after which the right one became loose.
So now I use the medium sized one for the right ear, and the small one for left.
In addition to being a symmetry fanatic, I also crave for good sound quality and an uninterrupted music experience. As always I am disappointed.

Your ears are *not* unsymmetrical. I feel the same while using earphones. In fact, most people feel the same way. When I’m listening to music using my old Creative earphones, my left ear hurts like hell and the earphone keeps falling out.
The solution is (1) use headphones, not earphones and (2) spend Rs.1000 on great quality earphones if really want to use them so badly. Look for those iPod earphones. Those are fantastic.

You just plainly ignored the part where I stated that I solved my problem by using earbuds of different sizes.

It probably just *feels* better. Who knows, maybe the entire human race has earholes of different sizes.

I use AirDrives. They adjust around your ears and the speaker sits just forward of you ear, not in them.
They are very comfortable, stay in place for running and cycling and also allow you to hear more ambient sounds. This way I can run or ride my bike with music and still feel more aware and safe. I got mine at apple.com. The company site is airdrives.com

BTW. Ears *can* be asymmetrical(holes). Mine are as well. Compute and compare the area if you want to.
