MTNL drops rates for Unlimited Plan!

As a part of their New Year bonanza, MTNL has dropped the rates of the unlimited plan, from Rs. 949 to Rs. 799.

So now, the total cost for unlimited broadband would be -
Rs. 799 – Plan Rent
Rs. 50 – Router Rent
Rs. 104.85 – Service Tax

Total = Rs.953.85, for broadband per month.

Which is obviously better than the earlier Rs. 1123.50 you had to pay earlier, but is still quite high an amount. I’m considering shifting, but I don’t think I’d be able to stand the pang attacks I get when I see speeds less than 1.7 Mbps. I’ll shift when MTNL offers 2 Mbps unlimited in 800 bucks per month.
