Feed Count Burst - Hash
Ever since I added a line below each post on Hash, feed readers are booming.

Notice that the font size is much smaller than the regular size for the other text in the post.
This is the thing that worked for John Chow, and is working wonders for me too. From a meek average of 14 readers to a 40 today, this is one thing that can boost traffic for any blog. Consider an example. Suppose you have an average blog, wth about 20-30 unique hits per day. Now out of those 20-30 people, 15 are those who would probably never return to your blog again, and landed to your blog either through a referral link, or a search engine. Some are regular readers, while the others are bots or people who clicked a link mistakenly and landed to your blog. Now if the one time readers read this line, and out of the 15, even 1 or 2 people subscribe to your feeds, the possibilty that they will read your future content and return to your blog more than doubles. If they have a feed reader in their web browser, like Opera or Firefox, and they subscribe to your feeds in that reader, they will recieve updates to your blog, and are very likely to read your new content once in a while, and develop a liking for your blog over a period of time. Thus, promoting your feed helps to generate sustainable traffic.
Having a RSS Feed is cool, but selling it effectively too is important. I guess you learn these things by experience.
