Browser Shots

I’ve always wondered how my blog looked like in other browsers, whether something got distorted, or text size varied, or how clear was the picture rendering. But obviously, I’m too lazy to install all these browsers for a demo. Browser Shots is a cool service that takes screens of your website in different browsers, and uploads them on their website, which is available for you to view. You can also download the shots. A con is that the uploading takes about 18-20 mins (for some specific browsers), which is a long wait. Also, to prevent flooding and overloading of servers, they have a time limit of 30 mins, which can be extended only by repeatedly clicking a button on the site, which means you have to bookmark the page and be back every 10 mins to extend the time limit. But once your shots are uploaded, they are not deleted, and they remain there for future reference.

they should include Lynx shots as well. That’s how GoogleBot sees any website

Yeah, agreed. Let’s send them an email making a suggestion.

And you don’t need a Lynx screen, waise. It just shows you your website stripped of all images, scripts, flash and text formatting. Just text, and links. That’s all.
